About the Authors

Johnny Meah

Born in 1937, Johnny is a third-generation artist. At age nine he was billed as the "World's Youngest Portrait Artist" at regional fairs, and he went on to spend his life around circuses, carnivals, and the sideshow banner trade.

Michael Papa

Michael is a collector and dealer of antique sideshow banners and runs Sideshow Banner Exchange, where he buys, sells, and appraises vintage banners.
